1. The back yard has been dug out (ya.... just in time for winter)
2. The doors... one in, one to go. If anyone knows a good, cheap contractor in Winnipeg (other than the most amazing Robert, who is actually booked until January and is just doing us a huge favour), then send them my way.
3. The windows. Fiberglass. Five of 'em, including the brute in the living room.
Cats have spent far too much time locked in either the bathroom or the kitchen window. Rufus is getting pretty tired of it, but Cleo's a trooper, as usual.
So, we'll be safe (ask me how easy it was to break into the house when I locked myself out earlier this week!), toasty warm and broke this winter. Which means I'll be amusing myself by dreaming of my garden to be, rather than jetting to exotic locales.

looks fantastic! v. exciting. (hi o!) xo
Oh, Ruuuu-fus!! And is that Omar with the handbar?! Still, the house is lookin' good. Thank god you're not doing a kitchen renovation, which I hear, is hellish.
That is indeed Omar with the handlebar. Coming off tonight, as he has an audition for another MOW tomorrow. The kids at the daycare HATE it. :]
My word. The stache. Wow.
I put myself in the kids at daycare catergory. Sorry O. I'm a hater of facial hair. But if it gets you a good part I can understand. And I'm glad I'm not the one who has to kiss it. :)
Exciting house stuff! Really exciting. Maybe we can come for a visit in October? I'm running out of time before I'll be working all Saturdays again.
Does Brandon count as an exotic locale? I certainly wouldn't think so.
P.S. Thank you for A's b-day gift. She loves it!
Does it still have the essence of Hal?
Why the yard tear up?
Putting in some top soil for the garden?
Check my site for an exotic local with tons of veggi food!
