Was reading today on the Health Canada website that as of November 16, 2006, all cosmetic and personal care products sold in Canada must contain the list of ingredients on the label.
This is good news for several reasons. First, people like my co-worker who reacts to aloe vera, will have an easier time avoiding ingredients that cause them problems. Second, cosmetic companies may have to start defending what is in their products and maybe, hopefully ensuring that their products are not harmful. And third, for slightly paranoid folks like myself, I can look for key ingredients (such a parabens, PEG, propylene glycol, etc. etc.) that have been linked to cancer or other health problems... AND THEN AVOID THEM.
Hurray!
